Dr. Reyad A. Shawabkeh is an associate professor of chemical engineering at
Mutah University. He is the chairman of chemical engineering department
since aufgust 2004. Form April 2002 till August 2004 he was a director of
Dead Sea research center. His area of research lie in the field of Adsorption
and Catalysis and Electrochemical (bio)sensor.
Dr. Reyad A. Shawabkeh's doctorate degree is from New Mexico State University,
USA, 1998. His areas of interest are Synthesis of Activated Carbon, Adsorption
of Pollutants onto Naturally and Synthesized Materials, Design of Electrochemical (Bio) sensors,
Modeling & Simulation of unit operations.
Dr Shawabkeh has received the American Academy of Environmental Engineers'
Environmental Excellence Award in 1998, the first time this award was given
to an academic research project. The award was presented for research on the
conversion of pecan shells to activated carbon.

Omar Ali Al-Khashman was born in Shoubak, Jordan on 23 February 1965.
He finished Al-Shoubak Secondary School in 1983. He graduated from University
of Jordan in 1987 with a B.Sc in geology and mineralogy and received his master
of environmental chemistry in 1994 and his PhD in water and environmental studies
in 2002. Dr. Omar joined Mutah University in November 1991, he was
a teaching assistant in the department of chemistry for 11 years. In August 2003 he
was appointed as an assistant researcher in the Water and Environment Studies
Center. Since March 2004 he was heading the department of research and studies
in the center until he resigned. In February 2007 he joined the Department of Environmental
Engineering at Al-Hussein University where he was appointed as an assistant professor.
Dr. Khashman has published several papers in the field of
hydrochemistry, water resources and environmental studies related to Jordan
and abroad. He is a regular participant/attendant of many conferences and
workshops related to water and environmental issues.

Jamal Amira is a chemical engineer with more than 26 years of engineering and
operating experience in potash industry. His experience includes
extensive production activities in the solar ponds evaporation
processes multiple ponds systems. Harvesting operational systems,
saturated brine flow, saturated brine pumping stations, slurry pipes
and pumping booster’s networks, dredging operations, harvester, s mobility.
Harvesting efficiency, potash processing (hot leach. cold leach. industrial grade).
quality control from the start at the intake pumps at the Dead Sea through the
whole processing till the product received by customers. Participated effectively
in solar ponds de bottlenecking and optimization for all stages. As well as
in the refineries de bottlenecking and expansion. Amira obtained his BSc in chemical
Engineering from University of Salford, United Kingdom in 1978 and MSc in chemical
enginerring from University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 1979. Amira is the technical
Manager from 1996-till now at the Arab Potash Company
