Introduction
The strategic plan for Mu’tah University for the period 2007-2012 is issued in the context of the national  orientation that King Abdullah    has emphasized to create a comprehensive change in Higher Education, Scientific Research and all educational working organizations such as universities, colleges, centers, institutions and administrations. The King’s interests were translated into a royal vision for High Education through different speeches, meetings and messages addressed to the government, the universities and students. This vision aims at directing Higher Education to progress reaching universal levels and to rising up its competitive ability focusing on performance, quality assurance, openness and mergence with international orientation related to that particular field. This can be achieved by adopting information technology to move from traditional economy market to information-based market.

Building this plan has been based on different directions. The most important one was derived from His Majesty’s directions to create a comprehensive change in the field of Higher Education. In addition, the plan was derived from the national agenda of Higher Education and scientific research along with the working  programme of “We Are All Jordan”  forum.
