The Department general Objectives:
- To teach new and updated information about medical microbiology & immunology through introductory courses or as separated lectures in the integrated modules with all laboratory work that support the theory part of the subjects - To encourage research work in the field of medical microbiology and infections disease both conducted by staff members and students. - To serve the local community by arranging educational lectures about the infectious diseases and its prevention or general public health at the schools or other local societies at alkarak province.
General Microbiology Course Description: The aim of this course is to provide students with the general knowledge about microorganisms, their development, habitat, isolation, identification, nutrition, control and its relation to enviornment and antibiotics. To study the agents of human infectious diseases belong to five major groups of organisms bacteria, helminthes, protozoa, viruses & fungi and their mechanisms of disease production, pathogenicity, , diagnosis & treatment. Also students will have practical training on bacterial isolation and identification from different body samples. Concepts and methodology of bacterial sensitivity tests and other biochemical and Molecular tests for bacterial and parasitic detection.
