Welcome from the Dean of Faculty


FSS is established 2004 by the Council of Higher Education (article no. 777 dated 26/08/2004). FSS is the largest academic unit in Mutah University. With both undergraduate and graduate programs in six departments: (Archaeology and Tourism, Geography, History, political science, Psychology, and Sociology). The official opening of the FSS was in December 1 2004.


The Departments provide their students a broad range of courses related to their field of specialization in order to understand the contemporary world with all its entangled aspects. Courses are designed to recruit students to be able to adapt to the new developments in the globe and encourage their critical thinking .Teaching and research mission in FSS address pertinent national, regional and global issues since global issues since globalization demands new perspectives on life in a multicultural world.

The Faculty will continue to encourage teaching excellence, applied social research and community services.  It extends its welcome to students and to academics professionals business government and community visitors, from Jordan, the Arab and Islamic Countries and the rest of the world.

Our mission

The mission of FSS is to impart the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in the social sciences to students and to study social, political, historical geographical and archaeological aspects of society through teaching, research, and community services. FSS intends to produce professional students with high social sensitivity and serving the needs of society
