تاريخ الكلية
أنشئت كلية الشريعة ، بموجب قرار مجلس أمناء جامعة مؤته ، عام 1999، وقد سابقها إنشاء قسم الشريعة والدراسات الإسلامية ، الذي كان تابعاً لكلية الآداب ، حيث كان طلبة القسم يدرسون بالإضافة إلى مواد الشريعة بعض مواد كلية الآداب ، وذلك تبعاً لمتطلبات تلك الكلية.
وأصبحت كلية الشريعة بعد الإنتقال من القسم إلى الكلية ، تحوي قسمين هما :
التفاعل مع المجتمع
تسهم الكلية في جهود الجامعة الرامية إلى خدمة المجتمع المحلي ، وذلك عن طريق المشاركة في إلقاء المحاضرات والندوات ، في المناسبات الدينية المختلفة ، هذا علاوة على الدورات التخصصية ، التي تعقدها الكلية في مجال علوم الشريعة الإسلامية لقطاعات المجتمع المختلفة .
التعاون مع المؤسسات العالمية
للكلية تعاون وتـنسيق مع المؤسسات العلمية والأكاديمية العالية ، حيث تـنظم هذا العام -(2000 )- حلقة بحثية عن شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية ، ومشروعه الإصلاحي ، وانجازاته العلمية ، وذلك بالتعاون مع المعهد العالمي للفكر الإسلامي / واشنطن .
طلبة الشعوب الإسلامية
وتستوعب الكلية كل عام ، مجموعة من طلبة الشعوب الإسلامية ، من ماليزيا ، وأندونيسيا ، وبعض دول إفـريـقية ، وتوليهم رعاية خاصة في دراسة اللغة العربية وعلوم الشريعة الإسلامية .
فلسفة الكلية
تؤمن الكلية بمنهج التوسط والإعتدال ، في الدعوة إلى الإسلام ، وبقيم التسامح ، والحوار والتـفاعل مع الحضارات ، والثـقافات الأخرى .
Vision, Mission and Objectives of Shariah Faculty
Objectives:
To produce highly qualified graduates with BAs and MAs in Islamic Shariah who are able to spread the tolerant message of Islam.
To strengthen scientific and social bonds between Mu'tah University on the one hand and Arabs and Muslims through admitting their children in the Shariah Faculty programs.
To prepare Muslim generations that combine between tradition and modernism characterized by intermediation and moderation.
Mission:
To enlighten the people of the local society and make them knowledgeable of matters of their religion by responding to their questions and inquiries.
To prepare a generation of people who are able to bring up their religion and civilization to an excellent state.
To serve Shariah studies in the fields of composition and teaching in a way that combines tradition with modernism.
The Vision, Message and Objectives of The Foundations of Religion Department in The Faculty of Shariah
Objectives
To prepare specialists in Islamic studies to meet the needs of the contemporary society with Imamas and Muftis, Speakers and Instructors who are able to deal with the contemporary challenges.
To nourish scientific research in the field of Quran, Sunna, Creed and the Life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through writing, teaching and participating in conferences and workshops.
To Serve Allah's Book through teaching, reciting, understanding and applying it in real life.
To popularize and enhance the Sunna in reference to narration and knowledge.
To develop the performance of the faculty members of the department.
Mission
To implant the right creed based on the truthful Quran and Sunna.
To bring awareness to local society in reference to their religion by giving lessons, speeches, lectures and by holding gatherings and meetings.
To Prepare a generation that is able to uplift their religion and nation.
Vision
To expand the admission of students in the BA and MA programs
To open Doctorate programs in the Quranic Studies and the Sunna Studies.
Originating a special department for Islamic Creed and Calling.
The Vision, Message and Objectives of The Foundations of Fiqh Department in The Faculty of Shariah
Objectives
To provide the Jordanian local society in particular with a qualified group of judges, muftis, speakers and instructors.
Serving The Islamic Sharia studies especially Fiqh and its foundation through writing, teaching and participating in conferences and workshops.
Mission
To bring awareness to local society in relationship of their religion by giving lessons and speeches, lectures in the province of Karak.
To Prepare a generation that is able to uplift their religion and nation.
Vision
To expand the admission of students in the BA and MA programs.
To open new BA programs and a PhD program in the foundations of Fiqh.
Originating a special faculty for the foundations of Fiqh.
