College of Engineering to become a platform of excellence in the production of scientific and academic development in line with thecourse of age at the national level and the academic world and toadopt the most important overall global standards in quality and excellence in college and implementation

The development of the scientific and academic for all cadres ofthe College of Engineering faculty members and administrative staff and students in accordance with the most importantinternational quality standards in this area as well as work on the development of curricula and study plans in line with labor market needs of actual and follow-up of graduates and to assist inemployment commensurate with their qualifications.

1 - graduation of qualified leaders in the specialty of Electrical Engineering (Communications, Electronics, power and control)and numbers to meet the needs of the labor market.
2 - provide students with basic scientific knowledge and impart theskills necessary to perform the tasks assigned to it in the future to the fullest.
3 - Training students on the skills of applied scientific research in the field of specialization.
4 - community service.

The Department of Electrical Engineering started with a few members of staff, offering an intensive five-year Bachelor degree program. Currently there are 593 students and 17 faculty members. These numbers are expected to increase to 800 students and 25 faculty members in all fields of Electrical Engineering by the year 2011.
The Department offers Power, Communication and electronic field of studies (undergraduate).
The undergraduate degree curriculum provides a wide range of basic knowledge in applied sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry . This is followed by a strong comprehensive and balanced departmental requirements in the different fields of Electrical Engineering, both in classrooms and laboratories. The degree requirements also includes a wide spectrum of selective knowledge in Languages, Social Sciences, History, Management, Law and many other fields. The students have access to the latest computer facilities and software that are available in the market, in order to stimulate their engineering skills. In addition to the senior project, the students are assigned to independent projects at an appropriate stage for designing systems and solving problems related to local industries and local communities.
The Department offers postgraduate program (Msc) in Communication Engineering.
