Department of Management Information Systems

The department was established at the faculty business at the beginning of the academic year 2007/2008. It offers an undergraduate academic program leading to Bachelor degree in Management information systems (MIS). This program provides extensive knowledge concerning the basic MIS disciplines and exposes the students to extensive course work in the various areas of study.

The department has a carefully designed program and course plan comprised of courses relating to organizational, managerial, information and communication technologies. Areas of interest in the program also include programming, strategic implementation of MIS, and social issues relating to MIS context. These courses are continuously updated to meet the dynamic changes in a rapidly business environment. This variation of courses designed to meet the needs and interests of students from various backgrounds as well as the needs of business and governmental organizations. The main objective of the department is to develop the abilities and knowledge needed for successful careers in MIS. Graduates are offered qualifications to attain employment in both the public and private sectors in local and regional labor markets.
