Department of Economics, Business & Finance

The department is geared towards students who intend to pursue careers in economics. The department stresses the development of skills required by modern economists and financers to meet the growing prospects of economics and financial sector. The graduates are prepared to pursue wide range of careers in economics and financial sector.

The department of economics was established in 1992 to confer a Bachelor degree in Economics. In 1999, the department has started to offer another bachelor degree in financial and banking science. In 2000, A master degree program in Economics was established. Job opportunities are found in the fields of: Environment, Tourism, Insurance, Education, Transportation Economics and banking sector. The department continually updates its curriculum to meet contemporary issues. Graduates are usually employed in public sector, financial institutions, industrial corporations, and regional or international organizations.
